Hi all,
Last spring I purchased the Jun BL exhaust w/EVC controlled by the car's OEM actuators. I have a 2023 sport prestige. About 2-3 months after install I noticed the left side valve was staying open in comfort and eco modes (the car only opens the OEM valves in sport and sport+). The response I got from the exhaust manufacturer was that the car controls its own valves and can open and close them at random times depending on engine operation. I thought it was odd that one side was staying open not both, but I decided to give it more time and see if the ECU needed to adjust to the new exhaust.
The left side stared working again a few months later, but recently the right side started staying open all the time. The left side is rattling now as well. As a test I took the exhaust off and put the stock exhaust back on and the valves worked perfectly - closed in eco and comfort, and open in sport and sport+. I put the Jun BL back on and they still stick open and rattle. It is difficult to move the exhaust valves by hand - the JUN B.L. exhaust valves seem to be seizing in place. When I start the car I can hear the valve actuator click several times before giving up. No CELs or anything, the car is still almost brand new.
Has anyone else run into these issues and been able to resolve with the manufacturer? Frankly it is extremely disappointing to spend $2.6K on an exhaust with such poor attention to quality and to get a response from the manufacturer that this is normal, especially after paying out of pocket to have the original exhaust put back on to test the stock car exhaust actuators were working correctly.
At this point I am probably going to put the stock exhaust back on again so I can take the car on road trips without the open valve drone. Jun BL sounds absolutely amazing but if the valves fail within a year I am wondering why I paid so much $ for such poor quality.
