  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I spent a couple of weeks in Germany on business. A lot of time on the Autobahn, (A7,A96, A99 etc).
Really missed the Genesis on a road with unlimited speeds.
I was driving a rental 520d BMW.
What I noticed, is the turn in is very very quick, much quicker than I remember for the US spec 535 I drove before buying the Genesis.

The roads are SO much better in Europe I understand why they prefer such firm suspension settings. handling really can't be compared if you never have to worry about a 1 ft deep pothole mid-apex..... but once you get past the steering it handled fairly well, I would say a little worse than my Genesis, but I have extreme contacts on it.

Not really a fair comparison but the 520d was under-powered and twitchy , it settled at about 100 mph but really couldn't hold 120.
I liked the seats in the BMW better, They have more side support than the Genesis (which really has none).

I hate the stereo, sounded thin, no bass, highs were not clear, middle sounded good.

I want Germany road rules here.

Everyone stays right and passes left. There was no problem running 110 or 160, people watched for fast moving traffic. No rolling road blocks in the fast lane.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
all true, lane discipline is good in germany :P Not all of europe though, when I was in spain things were quite different. Hope you enjoyed the unrestricted autobahn :D The 520d should be able to do do 120mph though and hold it.

The diesels over there are for fuel economy, of course. Doubt you would enjoy their gas prices on a daily basis. Yes, the Autobahenen are wonderful, but so are the European trains.

I'll bet you didn't see any Minnesota "dare me to merge" behavior either

Essentially, we have Autobahn rules here. What we lack is serious enforcement and German fines/punishment.
