  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First of all, thank you all for your help on the lease stuff. Ended up getting a pretty good deal in the end. They bought out my Honda lease and basically did the 3.8 for 15K a year at $400 a month OTD.

So far, I really like the car. A lot more powerful than my 2009 Accord 4 cylinder.

Having a couple minor issues so far:

Bluetooth phonebook isn't working right with my Nexus S. I try to say call and a name and she has no idea what I am saying, annoying.

Hearing a few rattles in the front seat area, maybe passenger door or seat area. Maybe the car is just breaking in a little?

Anyone else experience any of these issues?

Wings are on order, Tint appointment has been sent. Went with Silver on Black, looks great.

Thanks,

CLE

You should read the bluetooth manual to determine how it works. On my 2009 Genesis you cannot automatically access your cellphone phone list, the list must be entered into the bluetooth device. Since you have the Genesis base model, your bluetooth may be slightly different than Tech Package bluetooth integrated into the audio system. Also, check the manual for compatibility with your particular phone (the bluetooth manual shoud list a website with up-to-date information).

If you continue to have rattles, take it to the dealer. Make sure you try drving with headrest in down position to see if that might be the cause.

I also have a 2012 base Genesis.

My first BT phone discovery: The system has "word recognition" from your BT phone. This means that when it imports the phonebook from your BT-capable phone, it can "read" the named entries from your phone numbers and interpret what they phonetically sound like.

OK, so that sounds a little like crazy talk. Simply, if your phone's entry says "Jane" it will interpret the word AND interpret the sound "Jane". However, if you try to enter your own voice entry "Jane", it will get confused. I discovered this once I tried entering voice entries and then deleted them all, and accidentally stumbled across the fact that it interpreted my "Jane" as its "Jane" (so to speak).

I hope this makes sense. In the end, don't try to duplicate voice entries with your phone's alphabetic entries for any stored phone numbers.
