  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

re: wood trim
Only on cashmere IIRC. Steering wheel no longer has wood in the Rspec, regardless of interior color.

re: black vs. cashmere interior
With two kids and after having three cars with beige colored interiors (2 Accord, 1 Solara), I find having black interior much easier to keep clean.

Steering wheel never had wood in the rspec...

I picked up my new 2013 R-Spec on Monday, and loving it! I did decide to switch to Titanium, instead of the black, and I think it looks rich.

Only problem I can see is that I asked the dealer to install 20% tinting on all 5 windows, however my first row (driver/passenger) windows have a lighter tint to them. I think I need to ask them to re-do those two windows.

I was concerned about the firmness of ride, however I've been going over speed bumps like they don't exist. It's a very smooth ride, so I'm not experiencing the bumpy ride I had feared.

Oh, one other thing thats pissing me off is the "agree" everytime I turn the car on. Is the Nav supposed to make you agree everytime??

Pretty much standard on Nav systems for liability reasons.

I would rather have the nag screen and the ability to manage the nav in motion (should I want to get lost with the terrible maps :p) than the other way around.

This my first car with a black interior and while it looks nice it shows every bit of grass and dirt. Would have gone with the cashmere interior if I had it to do over again.
As the car ages, a cashmere interior will show a different kind of dirt (the kind that is much harder to get off).

I have a small shop vac in my garage to vacuum the floors of my Genesis that I bought for about $60 right after I got my Genesis with black interior. Problem solved.

I always go for a light interior, had just one black interior 2013 VW Passat SEL.
Every morning when I opened the door I felt like a mortician..
I cover the original carpeting/mats with a custom cut out of good carpet and a decent rubber mat. Thereafter its easy to keep the floor clean..Hand wipes do a great job on all but the leather seats..........My Azera (Black/Tan interior) looked as new after 40K hard miles, got an extra $150 on the trade as the dealer did not have to Detail...;) I see it around sometimes, looks tired and oh so grubby...............

I'll never buy a black car (exterior). If they have on spec of dirt, and heaven forbid, a door ding, that's what the eye will see over all else. Plus that black exterior just makes everything soooooooo hot!!!

Now, having said that, my 2010 Genny w/4.6L/Tech package has black interior. I've never owned a car with black interior, but, it blends better with the rest of "stock" color interior that all car makers are doing these days. So far, no regrets. Also, I have the windows tinted which helps a lot, plus I like the look of the tint. (35%)
