Key FOB Battery

Does anyone know how to change the battery in the FOB, not sure if there is one or if it has to be recharged thru the key slot on the lower center dash.

My owners manual, page 4-10, has instructions for replacing the key fob battery. Simply pry the back off the fob and remove and replace the battery.

It does not recharge through the key slot.

It does not charge through the key slot!
Remove the key itself halfway and twist it - that's all you need to do. CR-2032 battery is what you need to buy as a replacement.

Twisting the key must only apply to the base model key fob.
My 2012 Tech has a pry slot.
Twisting the key will break something before the fob ever opens.
