  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good morning folks.

I have a 2022 G70. The buttons on one of the key fobs stopped working. It still works "hands free," that is, I can use it to open the door, etc. Just not by using the buttons. I replaced the battery but no luck. The other key fob works fine so I'm guessing it's not anyhting wrong with the car. Anyone experience this? Should I just go back to the dealer?

When you open the fob to install a new battery, you might notice that the small chip will come out because it is not attached. If you take it out you will notice that there are touch connections. So most likely the the activity button is not making contact with the connection point. Other than pressing the chip down for full contact! I am not sure what else to try. I had this happen to my fob when I replaced the battery. I made sure that all
POints worked by pressing down on the chip prior to closing the fob.

Mine did not have that chip. But I uninstalled and reinstalled the battery. I do see a red light that flashes when I press lock and unlock (not by my car right now). Thanks!

Update:

Still not working. Guess I'm headed to the dealership. Oh well.
