We have a 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8L. The proximity keys have been acting up for some time now (both keys). Batteries have been replaced numerous times and still have a full charge. When the issue started the proximity unlock feature would not work with the first few pushes of the fob button, then it would kick in and lock/unlock the car. Then after entry into the car it would give the message 'key not detected'. After you used the fob while inside the car it would recognize the fob and the car would start. Now nothing works. Neither fob. We have to use the key entry (sucks in the Florida rainy season) and inset the fob into the center console port for starting the car. I know the exterior proximity sensors are in the door handles (won't work either using the push button) and the interior proximity sensor is in the glove box. It just seems strange that 1. Both fobs don't work and 2. neither the ignition nor the door sensors work. Or is there one master sensor? If one goes does it take out the other? Other than going to the dealership and taking out a mortgage on the house to pay for this repair is there a way to diagnose the problem? And FYI, the key fobs are warm and dry and kept indoors at all times, as said before batteries are new and of the correct size. Any help would be appreciated.
