  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What happens if you try to lock using the other fob? It may be the fob button is simply worn out... it happens. Or, with the problematic fob, can you open the trunk? If so, the fob is a) transmitting and b) the car is receiving it. That points to a worn-out lock button. Moisture and oils from your hands does work its way into the fob, gumming up the switch contacts just like it does on TV remote controls. It is possible to dig into the fob and clean it out sometimes.

If the fob won't work the door locks nor the trunk, but the other fob works normally, the fob has an internal issue. If neither fob works I would think the car's external receiver unit is likely having issues by not receiving the fob signals. A different receiver is used inside the car for starting... one can be bad while the other works.
