  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’ve had this twice in 10.5 years with my 2014 Genesis. Sometimes it’s before the FOB batteries die or just after I replace them. Hold the FOB on the Start button and press. Haven’t had the issue in a few years.

Thank you. I was thinking of replacing the batteries. Love this car.
Love mine. By tomorrow afternoon when we get back from the beach I will be over 233K miles.

I must have gotten its attention; I did nothing but it now is back to normal!
Thanks for your help.

I'm still having an issue with starting but at least there is a twist in the problem. Others mentioned the brake switch so I tried pushing on the brake to activate the tail lights-no problem. The car started and now it will start if I pump the brake a few times-pedal firms up after tap or two. Is this the switch problem??

You might try cleaning and lubing the switch. Check to make sure it didn't come loose.

I had the same symptoms and also pumped the brakes with some success…..break lights always worked. I replaced the brake switch and my 2009 3.8L 158k Genesis now starts as if it were new.
