  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Took my 2009 Genesis in to Ed Voyles on Thursday for the P06 campaign to upgrade the nav and add randomization to the iPod interface. The entire experience was simply superlative. Rob, my service rep, took care of my from the moment I walked in, I had a Genesis 4.6 loaner for the day that it took them to do the update, and they also rotated the tires and did the oil change. No charge for the update, and a very reasonable charge for the service that was far, far less than Cherokee Hyundai charged me for the same service last year.

The Genesis was actually purchased from Cherokee Hyundai, and they said they'd do the P06 campaign as well, but they didn't have a loaner for me when I contacted them two weeks ago. They said they'd contact me when a loaner became available, and I never heard from them. Even though I didn't buy the vehicle from them, the folks at Ed Voyles were first-class in the way they stepped forward and took care of me as a valued customer.

I have bought several cars from other Ed Voyles franchises over the years (five Hondas, four Acuras), but this was my first Hyundai experience with them. It won't be my last!

It's good to hear of positive dealer experiences - a lot of people on this forum have reported problems with their dealers for one reason or another. My dealer - Ourisman in Laurel, MD - has treated me very well for the past several years, first with my Azera and now with my Genesis. They always have a loaner, or rental, or a ride to work available when needed.

Nice to hear of your positive experience especially since Ed Voyles is the dealership that I purchased my 2010 Genesis.

Glad to hear you were taken care of, very nice to hear positive experiences!

When I was ready to have the P06 update done, I got crazy and went to my closest dealer, Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg, to see about them doing the job.
The Service Manager said he would not give me a loaner "because Hyundai only allows them to give a loaner if the car is in the shop overnight". He also would not allow me to talk with the technician who would do the job, even if the technician would come out to me, rather than me going into the service area. "Technicians are on Flat Rate and they are losing money if they have the customer talk with them".

Went to Orlando Hyundai, who would give me a loaner for the day and their Genesis Technician did the job in less than four hours. (Did not need the loaner after all). Technician came out and talked with me, and if I wanted, I could go and talk with. Not a "fancy looking" Service Department, but they do a great job taking care of me, and as far as I can tell, all their customers.

Needless to say, although I am on very friendly terms with one of Jenkins Salesmen, when I go to buy another Hyundai, it will be at Orlando Hyundai.

Except for a rocky period a month or two ago when they were apparently down two techs (how does that happen in THIS economy?!), Ed Voyles has consistently given great service in a very timely manner. Example: I e-mailed Rob last week or the week before that as my 09Gen approached the 36K mark and told him I was seeing some flaking on the rims (see related thread). Rob got back in touch and then got back in touch again when I failed to make an appointment (I've been really busy). After Rob's reminder I brought it in this morning for the rims to be touched up. Rental car was ready, etc. Rob is da man! And Ed Voyles always details your Genesis when it's in for any kind of service. Can't top that.
