I can only address the sales experience at Lamar. Purchased a beautiful V8 yesterday.
Life is far too short to spend hours in a dealership. Buying a car should be a fun experience...or at least not painful.
Stopped by Lamar for a test drive and got the salesman's card.
Requested quotes online from a multitude of SoCal dealers.
After receiving the quotes I gave the salesman, Sam, a call to get me his best price. He actually came back with a price that was withing a few dollars of the lowest online quote I got. considering that I can walk to the dealer from my office, I went with this.
Again, I do not ever plan on spending hours in a dealership and in actuality I simply didn't have the time. I asked Sam to get everything ready to go. I had financing arranged and just wanted to walk in with my down and sign the papers and leave. He called back an hour later and off I went. Now when I got there, I let them know that I only had 15 minutes to do this deal. Unfortunately, another customer was still wrapping up his deal with the finance man.
Sam seeing that this was going to take longer than 15 minutes worked with his manager to give me the car right then and arranged for me to stop back and finish up at a time convenient for ME!!
In short, Sam and his manager Said jumped through hoops to get this thing done in record time. Even got me an extra $750 off. Doing the legwork up front (agreed price, arranged financing, not coming in until paperwork ready to go) saved us all so much hassle.
So far, my experiences with Lamar are nothing short of great. Sam Ebtesam is a great guy and honestly the first car salesman that I've worked with where I didn't feel the need to keep my hand on my wallet.
