  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

50/50 on this. May of put it on the back to balance the look.

V8 wheels w/ a Lambda badge = confusing.

I realize what car you have based on your profile. Those wheels aren't available from the factory on any trim level of the 3.8, only the 4.6.

Looks good!! BUT I knew I had seen the name before so I did a google serch for the word. Came up with a few meanings but this one stuck out. "Lambda Legal is a gay & lesbian legal advocacy group in the United States" Not to sure I want this on my car.
You did a Google search to look up the meaning? Lambda is one of the Greek letters of the alphabet. It doesn't mean anything. Alpha, beta, gamma, delta... lamda...tau...).

Just because some organization adopted Lambda as part of their name is purely coincidental.

I know it is a letter of the Greek alphabet ;) but I have seen this before regarding cars so I looked it up. Apart from finding a couple of gay groups who have adopted this name I also found the car thing I remembered. Lambda in the car world is a GM based platform. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Lambda_platform

By the way. Saturn is not a car brand, it is a planet. Just because some organization adopted Saturn as part of their name is purely coincidental.

Lambda is not a car brand (neither is Tau). It is a letter designation that Hyundai uses to identify an engine family. You should probably check the parts catalog to see whether any parts contain the numbers '666' so you remove them from your car (personally, I would check the suspension parts first).

Delta Lambda Phi is a national fraternity for gay and bisexual men (according to Wikipedia). I suppose you wouldn't fly Delta airlines or buy a Delta faucet?

BTW, I am not buying that you knew Lambda was a letter in the Greek alphabet before you Googled it (otherwise you would not have bothered to Google it).

Also, Saturn car company (recently shut down by GM) was named after the planet Saturn, so it is not a coincidence. Even though some sources claim it was named after Saturn Rocket used by the US Space Program, the Saturn (car company) logo shows what are obviously the rings of the planet Saturn. Besides, the Saturn Rocket was named after the planet. The planet Saturn is named after the Roman god Saturn.

I'm not feelin' your 'remove any parts with the number 666' comparison. Heh putting Lambda on your car, like it or not, is more like putting a pink triangle or a rainbow on it. I know triangles and rainbows were around long before gay rights groups, but put 'em on your car and you're ... FABULOUS!

But, gay groups aside, it does look pretty sweet.

When a car company chooses to number their platform, engine family, or parts, they normally uses letters and/or numbers. 666 is a number and lambda is a letter. Maybe some think that Koreans should use English letters, but I guess they decided that a internationally known alphabet like Ancient Greek was better than the English or Korean alphabet for their engine families.

Maybe Henry Ford should have called his cars Model Alpha or Model Tau? But there was no Google back then, so many would have been confused.

If I put all this information together I come up with

Lambda= A gay saturn engineer with greek roots. :D

I'm not a big fan of all the numbering and lettering that gets tacked on cars. Having said that, it doesn't look bad and it adds a certain uniqueness to the car...more so, than the V8 because Lambda is more unique. It isn't for me, but I do like it.

Where did you get the letters to assemble the LAMBDA badge from?

eBay has everything. Never ask this question, just look it up on eBay. ;) They go for about $1.50 a letter.
