  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

On my past cars, I used a razor blade to clean my windshields... Pretty effective to get the glue left behind from old stickers/toll tags/etc. Any idea if this is safe to do on the interior of the genesis windshield? I read that the windows are laminated for sound dampening, and I'm wondering if putting a blade to it would slice through this lamination.

Mods, I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong forum.

A razor blade would be fine on the windshield. Just make sure to only use the side of the razor blade that you started with and not flip it over. This can damage the glass, and scratch it.

For more window cleaning stickers etc., change blades often.

Lamination is a sheet of plastic BETWEEN two sheets of glass, not on the inside or outside of windshield. No problem using the blade on the Genesis windshield.

Note; Twenty or so years ago, GM came out with a windshield for some of their cars that had a bronze coating. It was to defrost the windshield. That windshield could not be cleaned with a rasor blade. Don't know if that windshield was coated on the inside or outside, but it sure looked strange. First time I saw one, I thought that the owner had tinted his windshield. I still see one every once in a while on an old GM car.
