  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've got just 30 miles on my new Genesis V8 and working my way through the manual. There's three pages on the operation of the Lane Departure warning system but I don't appear to have that button on my car. It's supposed to be paired with ESC, but the ESC button is solo. I thought the V8 was fully loaded with no options?

BTW, love the laser cruise control!

I have a 2011 V8 (which has no option packages available) and it also doesn't have the lane departure feature, although the manual talks about it.

The V8 like the V6 comes with option packages.

Actually, the 2011 did not have any factory options. The only options offered were the ripoff dealer addons like locking lug nuts and Ipod cables. After extensive web browsing I've come to the conclusion that LDWS on the 2011 Genesis is like the rumored 8-speed auto trans - an Equus rumor!

I'm puzzled my 2010 had various options packages available. According to the Hyundai USA website the tech package is a $ 3,500.00 option on the 2011.

So why are people saying there is no optional package on the 2011?

Dave

I purchased a 2011 V8 a few weeks ago. There are no options for the V8 model as it all comes standard.

The V6 model has a few manufacturer options.

Both have 3 accessories.

I have had my 2011 4.6 with Tech package for a month. There is no Lane Departure Warning System in the car. I also saw the reference to LDWS in the manual and thought that this may be a feature that belongs to the Equus.

The manual seems to be full of typos and grammatical errors which are likely due to translation discrepancies.

Are you sure this feature is not included? The manual seems to be quite specific as to it's location above the ESC button on the instrument panel!

The manuals describe every possible option regardless of whether it is present in any particular car or not. AFAIK, lane departure is available only in the Equus and may become available in the 4.6 Genesis at some point, but is not available at present.

Remember folks... the Genesis is a Korean car, and the Koreans sell many differently equipped versions of this car. I guarantee you they reused their Korean Owner's Manual in other markets with the foresight that they MIGHT offer those same features in those markets in the future.

Probably saved a bunch of money too. ;)

Confirm - I just spent 15 minutes looking for the feature. I also have a 2011 4.6L, no options available - and it's not there. Oh, well. By the way, I've had the car a whopping 2 days and love it.
