  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2022 g70 3.3t. I am looking into getting the Lap3 stage 1.5 ECU tune but I have a lot of questions. I have emailed Lap3 support multiple times and have yet to get a response but I've heard the Lap3 ecu is really good. Can anyone that has got this ECU tune help me out? Can the selectable options (e.g. exhaust tuning) be toggled, can I enable and disable crackles and pops when I want? I've seen people get the pop tune but only enable it when in sport mode, how do you customize what drive mode you want pops in? Also, what is the interface for controlling mapping and whatnot, is it a phone app? Im also not sure which options are worth it or not for the price. I have a few other questions so if anyone with experience with the Lap3 ecu tune could help me out I'd appreciate it!

Their customer service is known to be slow. The interface is a separate handheld controller you buy, not a phone app. You can set different maps for different drive modes, including pops. It's a solid tune but pricey for all the options. Honestly, if they aren't answering your emails now, think about how support will be later. Some folks have had better luck calling.

Thank you for the response. Definitely a bit pricey but I would rather get the Lap3 now because I know if I get JB4 I will eventually want to upgrade. Do you have the Lap3 yourself? What options did you get/recommend? Or any of them not worth it?

I don't have one myself, but a buddy ran it on his Stinger. He got the stage 1 tuner and the transmission controller. Said both were worth it. Skip the Bluetooth module unless you really need phone switching.

I have the 1.5. It’s a nice upgrade over stock and gives the option of running e30. I have had difficulty commuting with them as well. I will say the car has a lot more power and is way more fun to drive. I have the crackle and pop tune and it only works in sport and sport plus. I like it but wonder how the others are. I do not think a piggy back tune will be quite as good but again do not have a direct comparison. Overall I think lap3 users are satisfied and many are some of the quickest cars. Seems to be good reviews of kit and sleepy as well.
