On a 1600 mile road trip to Vegas from New Mexico. Got to Vegas without issues but noticed a delayed start the first day of our trip. The next night it wouldn't start at all, even w/ the key fob pushing against the starter. Knew our key fobs were good as I changed to new batteries last month. Next morning tried to jump start w/ no luck. AAA guy came out and tried beating on the starter and it clicked a couple times but that's it, but battery was good. Being in a parking garage wasn't ideal as far as getting it towed, but they sent a low profile truck w/ wheel lift and got it towed to dealer later that day.
Danny Lopez the service manager was outstanding, as was the service crew. They knew our plight and that it had to be done ASAP. They didn't waste any time, got right on it and ended up with a few items that required repair.
Starter, timing cover oil seals, both front control arms. I was told both bushings going bad so I guess they just put new arms in rather than change out the bushings. Parts came to about $1400 and I believe it's approx 10hr shop time. Probably be around $3500 if it wasn't under warranty. Luckily I have 3 months warranty left, being the 2nd owner on our 21. And anywhere else that this would have happened could have been very bad, our nearest dealer is 440 miles away, and many sketchy places the car could have stranded us.
Amazing they got this done ASAP, otherwise we would have an 800 mile rental car home and a flight back to get the G. Whew!!
