  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Equus (2011-2016)
Does anyone ea source for a reasonably priced map update?

I just signed up and logged into Hyundai Mapcare, they do not have map update available for 2013 Equus. Closest is 2013 Genesis, are they compatible?

What year is the version and how to I upload it to the car? Is there a guarantee that this will work with factory on board GPS?

This is Hyundai. This is there company that wrote your map software to begin with. It is this year's map. It updates every six to twelve months. This is not an unload, they ship you an SD card or a USB drive. The site linked in the post before mine is for the free download, but you didn't seem to like that one.

I'm pretty sure you have to get the update for your exact car.

I didn't see that link earlier. Got it. I have no problem downloading that to a usb drive and plug it into the car. But I need to be sure it will work with 2013 Hyundai. Mapnsoft does not have 2013 Equus available, so is that no longer supported? Is there a later map update that will work for Equus but more up to date than 2013 map? I know it won't be this years. Basically I'm looking for the last update for Equus before they ended it.

Joegr, I just spoke to Mapnsoft and they confirmed that there's an update earlier this year for 2013 Equus and also confirmed the price, but what's weird is that he said I have to register on the website to purchase, but then I told him that I did but I don't see it online, then he I have to get it from the dealer, this procedure does not make any sense to me. There's such product but some are sold by dealer only, and I doubt they will charge only $25. I'm tempted to download via from that link for free, but I want to be sure it will work on the car and not mess up the existing Nav. system.

Also that link only got me to a page asking you to select download for either Windows or Mac, once I clicked on Window, I get a screen as I've shown below and doesn't take you further....

Below is another notification that says 2013 Equus map ended in 2018 using DVDs, not USB.

So they clarified that for 2013, the last/latest map update is via 2018 DVD's. Due to a new Nav. unit/software starting 2014, they switched to USB that driver is able to plug in and update themselves.

I see the site is active now and allows for download of the navigation software updater. I did so but can not find the Equus anywhere in the menu of available updates. Every other car they make is there. Just not the Equus. I went back to the "Shipping Order Website" and see they do offer "2016 Hyundai Equus Map Update 141UP1VI" released on April 27th, 2020, for $25 + $9 shipping ($34 total) delivered on 16GB USB media.

I'd prefer to download the free updater and use my own USB drive so let me know if anyone has any luck locating and downloading this update. (A new update is supposed to come out next month so maybe they'll post it then?) Thanks!

Updated mine to 14.0 on 5/31/2020. I ordered the USB drive. It cost me $32.14, which includes tax and shipping.

Thanks for the reply, princelybug. Looks like ordering the paid upgrade is the only way to go (at this time) for our cars. But I'll still wait for their fall update that they say should be out next month before placing my order.

Did you experience any issues with the update? Did you lose any saved addresses or previous locations? Thanks!

Could be this as noted on the page when you log in:
UPDATE: NEW MAP VERSION 14.5 IS NOW AVAILABLE (LIMITED TO NEWER MODELS)

No issues, and no data lost. The one thing I have noticed is that it takes a long time for the update. Perhaps this is due to the age of the hardware, but my updates have taken ~ 90 minutes to complete each time.

I saw that notice, EdP. But the updater program (free map download) supports vehicles that go back as far as 2015. Just thought they could offer one for the 2016 Equus (which is still under warranty). I'll just pony up the $34 and call it good. Thanks for your reply.

Glad to hear that on the update, princelybug. Thanks. 90 minutes is a bit long but nothing like the DVD updates I had on my 2009 Genesis. Those took hours to install. I'll make sure I've got a full tank of gas before getting started...
