    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Tomorrow morning, I am leaving for my "Penfield Home". (Not really mine). Will be up there between two and four weeks. While there, will visit friends in Lake George and in Balston Spa.

Will compare my Interstate fuel milage on this trip with what I got in the last three long trips. Previous was:

27.45mpg Round trip to Phoenix and Roswell;
28.00mpg Round trip to Penfield (Rochester);
28.80mpg Round trip to Roswell.

Above was all Interstate miles. Two lane mpg averaged about 1 mpg less.

BTW, it is still cold up there, but nothing like Roswell was last December
:eek: :confused: :mad:

What is your average speed to attain this MPG? I can only get about 23 to 24 but I am usually going about 80 on the interstate.:confused:

hey, i live in fairport! If you'd wanna get together pm me and we will. I own the genesis coupe.

Safe travels!

Went to visit my daughter in Columbia today, before I continue my trip. First tank was 30.0, second tank so far is 29.2, but will fill up when I get close to Charlotte NC tomorrow. (costs less in SC vice NC)

Paul,
Keeping it on 75mph. Passing as many cars that pass me. I did have to go a little slower in GA on I-95 due to the construction, but only for about 30 miles.

Been up in Penfield (Rochester) for a week now. Visited friends in Balston and Lake George the past couple days. It seems that my gas milage has been getting better. Now have 24600 miles on the car. Remember the gas milage listed below is only for half the trip, as I still have to return to Florida in a couple weeks.

Averaged 29.94 mpg on the Interstates.
Averaged 26.90 mpg on two lane roads.
Averaged 21.40 mpg driving around Rochester.

The good news is that my Rochester area mpg is much better than my Mount Dora area mpg. The bad news is that in order to get this better mpg, I am driving on the area expressways, but a lot more miles, in addition to stop and go driving in side streets.

Will continue keeping records until I return to Florida.

(Will report a problem with the XM "Traffic", in a different thread).

CTRCBob,

Im curious what your experience with ride quality was driving from Mt. Dora to Rochester. In particular seat comfort, road ride, bounce, and your fatigue level? Do you have a 2009 or 2010? Did you use ACC on ride?

I am considering trading in my 2004 Prius for a V-8 or V-6 with tech package. I want to drive to The Villages in Fl from CT as well as to my daughter that goes to RIT in Rochester. Also I am driving more for business to NY metro area and I am getting tired of Prius ride which bounces on road.

I am concerned about what I have read about Genesis ride on suspension.

Thanks.

If you find the firmness of the 2010 acceptable, I don't think you need to worry about the bounciness, since they fixed that part on the 2010. But the 2010 still has a firm ride by design, which is a different issue than suspension control (bounciness), and some may find the firmness objectionable.

The ride is STIFF. The seat is comfortable, but when you drive over a bumpy section of Interstate, you feel it.

Even though the ride is stiff, it does not tire me out.

Back in Florida. MPG for the whole trip as follows;

Averaged 29.33 mpg on the Interstates.
Averaged 27.05 mpg on two lane roads.
Averaged 20.50 mpg driving around Rochester.

Price of gas went down 20cents in two weeks, comparing the same stations.

Have you calculated your actual MPG based on gas receipts and miles driven?

Last time I filled the Genesis I paid $2.79 for Premium. Pretty reasonable I think.

Wish you a ver happy safe journey.Just enjoy your trip.Have lots of fun and enjoyment.

Boy,,, are you ever late with your answer. :welcome:

That was back in May and I've been back in Florida a long time. :eek:

Read past posts above to see everything that went on in that trip.
Will "probably" return to Penfield sometime in September or October for a few weeks. September would be nice because I can get all those great local Peaches and Prune Plums, not available in October, but in October, I get together with friends and family,attending various events, plus I clean up all the family gravesites, plus I remove the flags from the graves I had put flags on, last May. Either way, I have to be out of there no later than November 3rd, because they normally have their first snow somewhere between November 3rd and 11th.

Don't know yet just when I will drive out to Roswell. Perhaps in January. Went the past two Decembers, and brought oranges, however the good oranges are not ready until mid January. (Had snow last December). (Did I mention it was COLD? - one morning it was 11F, but mostly in the low 20's in the morning, warming up to the low 40's at mid day).
