  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So i bought a new 2020 G70 Sport Mt back in August from a dealer in Nebraska. I drove it back to my home state NJ(was a fun cross country drive). From about 1800 miles and until now i have a constant misfire codes. My car has been in the shop 4 times since i have owned it to be fixed and each time the light always comes back on. Im looking into lemon laws and lawyers. Im not sure which state i should try to get the lemon law under(bought in nebraska, registered and taxed in nj)

Any advice? If anyone knows a good lawyer to contact that info would be appriciated as well. If they handl lemon law and consumer fraud even better as have another matter to see if they could handle as well.

As to which state, a lawyer should tell you that in 15 seconds. 'This may help or confuse you more but do some research in NJ

all state dependent, but in most cases I believe it falls under the state of purchase.

but it is always better to seek legal advice from an attorney, not an internet forum.

Sorry about your misfortune- hopefully it gets resolved. In the case of constant misfire codes, I'd settle for nothing less than a new engine, though I would prefer a new vehicle because I don't trust all dealers to install a new engine properly.

Look at your sale contract. There should be a section named Applicable Law. That will list what local, state and federal laws apply. Courts generally honor such provisions. As others has stated, this is most likely NE. I am not a lawyer but play one on TV. Actually, I don't play a lawyer on TV but have dealt with multi-state sale contracts before.

Also, you may want to get something like Bluedriver. This can help you diagnose the codes. Perhaps there is something else that needs to be replaced but the shop is reluctant to do so. Most shops do not mind warranty repairs as they are usually paid well for them; however, if it is a complex and time consuming process, they may put it off.

hey buddy sorry to hear you having issue with it, I own a g70 too having issue with it but before that I had a stinger GT1 2018 and the dealership whom was supposed to repair my car did the exact opposite long story short, I file a lemon law with the "help" of a lawyer and if I knew in advance what was going to happen this is what I would do...
first of all you absolutely don't need a lawyer to claim a lemon and Ill add to that getting a lawyer makes your whole process much more complicated, longer, expensive and you are basically kept out of the whole process with the dealership.
all the lawyer do is ask you for all documentation that you compile yourself and they just send it to the dealership, a thing that you can do as easily as sending an email, then you are at the mercy of the lawyer once the money is released, mine kept playing with me for months before paying me, don't be scared to file the lemon yourself, the papers you going to send to the lawyer you send it to genesis america instead and that's it you save money time and don't have to beg the lawyer to take your call once they got the funds.
you'll see people affiliated with lawyers tell you NO !!! you should not do it yourself but trust me f$%k them all it's super easy.
hit me up if you have questions.
cheers

Thanks for the replies. I was able to get in touch with a lawyer and they got me to the bbbautoline which helped with my claim.
So my car is going to be repurchased. Was originally going to go with replacement but there is a recall on 2021 g70 that there is no remedy for atm. So I just took the repurchase.

So on that note. Anyone know where to get 10 spoke 19 rims for the 2019± g70 have curb rash on my front right so need to get that taken care of before the repurchase

Have you tried Ebay? sometimes you find good used OEM parts there.

They will ding you for damage, but cost to replace may be more cost/effort than just taking that hit.

Nope he basically showed me the site and was done with it.

No PayPal so avoid eBay like the plague. There's a few sites that sell but seems out of stock everywhere. And depends if can get for 300-400. That ends up being less than what I would pay for the rim oem. Would just try to repair but heard the color hard to get

FYI PayPal is no longer the primary payment method on eBay. They accept a bunch of them now, and even default to something different than PayPal. That doesn't mean you shouldn't exercise caution however.

Dr Tal, can you send me the info on how you resolved this? I have a similar issue with my gv80. Thank you sooo much

Are parts for Genesis GV70 discontinued. I had a fender bender and there are only a few pieces that need to be snapped in. The website says that everything is discontinued. Any Advice?
