  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Let’s hear how long your infamous 15 turn signal DRL lasted.

Title. My driver one just burned out after 2 years 5 months. Replaced it in December 2021.

My passenger one burned out the other week. First time on that one since having the car since July 2021.

Seems like I’m my case they last about 2 years. Ridiculous!

My bulbs last about 6 months on average, I bought a 10-pack, lol. I recently bought the socket replacement kits since the sockets are fried and fail ground. Socket install pending when the next bulb fails.

Set it to parking lamp mode instead. Problem solved. Set it there and leave it there. Go forward 1 click if you are driving at night obviously - but otherwise leave it alone. It will shut off with the car. Almost 6 years on my 2015, 113k miles - not one bulb. Let the turn signals be turn signals. The eyebrows are plenty bright enough for DRLs - and even more so when you do the pin-move mod listed in other threads for it.

Yep, after multiple frustration bulb burnouts, I have my lights set to ON full time now. Turn signals now last much longer.

Wow. I guess maybe you drove more than me. Apparently my socket on the drivers side burn out so now I have to get a new socket.

Yeah, I’m going to start doing this now, especially since the socket burnt.

Yeah my socket fried. Where did you get the kits from? The dealer wants to charge me $80 for the socket.

Driving without DRL is illegal in some state as it prevent accidents

That’s in Canada I believe. Canadian models always used the LED strip as the DRL and didn’t have this problem.

I think certain states it’s like when it’s raining outside during the day you’re supposed to have some type of lights on.

Edit: apparently it’s illegal to drive with only your parking lights on in California at any time. But you won’t likely get pulled over for it.

Hey the parking lights look so good so much better than those terrible amber DRLs even though their dimmer. This is what I'm going to do from now on as long as I'm not in California or Illinois.

I should have done this before. I just wanted my automatic lights but now that I burnt a socket I will take the trouble of doing it manually (which really isn't that much to be honest.

I did it in Chicagoland for 5 years with a 2015 "G80". Downtown, all the western and northwestern burbs (lived in both), north into WI, south into IN and west to Iowa with no problem. You should be fine.

There is a repair kit Hyundai part number 92159-B1100FFF but it appears to be mostly discontinued or out of stock. I bought two from hyundai.oempartsonline.com for $15.81 each plus shipping. There is also a Hyundai TSB 19-BE-012H (attached) which shows this kit and step by step instructions. The regular socket part number 92159-B1100 is ridiculously expensive at $51 each, and there are many OEM knock-offs for cheap.

Thanks! I already spent way too much for it at the dealership, but I'll keep this in mind if my passenger side ever goes bad.

Ever since I added a 1Ohm resistor in series, I haven't had to change mine yet.

Thanks for that post. I ordered two 1 Ohm 25 watt resistors and will install them along with my replacement socket sets.
And continue to use the incandescent bulbs.
