  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lexicon sound system to me sounds..blown out or "tinny"? Problem?

Just to add to the myriad of opinions and suggestions... I was watching a YT video comparing the G70 to the TLX Type-S. At the end, the content creator showed what he did to make the Lexicon system sound better. I was skeptical but after doing what he said, I'm blown away how much better it sounds!

It's pretty simple, pull out all the midrange and jack up the treble and bass. After a bit of testing, the settings I liked the most were...

+3 treble
-7 Midrange
+10 Bass

Give it a shot and see what you think!

I gave this a try and I'm not a fan. Sounds way too muffled and bass is borderline unbearable. I can see how it can be enjoyable for someone that likes a lot of bass though!

My default settings are -3 treble, 0 midrange and 0 bass.

I feel the topend can be really sharp at times, and reducing the treble fixes that.

I agree. Most vehicles I’ve owned have needed what Slip-Angle suggested. But the better the system, the more they want to be fairly neutral.

Everyone has different hearing and tastes though. The past few years I’ve had fairly significant hearing issues. The biggest effect it has was “chopping” the bass tones I can hear. At certain frequencies and below my hearing is very poor. My wife’s GX460 Mark Levinson is the only factory vehicle system that I hear really full bass on.

The Lexicon bass is really good but I can tell it drops off at certain frequencies. But adjusting the bass does not help that problem, and the bass I hear gets over powering. I like it at plus one or two.

Generally speaking though, I’m very happy even with the bass. Far better than the BMW 540 HK system that I had before the G70.
