  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Having skipped the dealer offered interior protection package, I wonder if Lexol products would be OK on the leather. The manufacturer says do not use on glove soft leather. If not, what would be a good alternative?

I used the lexol in the brown bottle for years on my BMW, Mercedes and now my Genesis. Its good at protecting the leather from drying out.

You can use the cleaner and conditioner everywhere, except for glass and plastic. However, the cleaner is too strong for a new car. I dilute it 4:1 with water. The stuff is cheap, works really well and is sold everywhere.

Be careful when using the Lexol conditioner because when it dries, it tends to be grabby. this can cause premature wear on the leather when entering and exiting the vehicle.

if this is the case you are using too much. I use a small microfiber roundel and apply the Conditioner evenly, then use a towel to wipe it off.

then use a towel to wipe it off.

In my experience, 99% of people miss this instruction and let it dry on its own. The proper way to use this product is to buff it off after applying it.

I have been using Lexol products for many years with great results, as others have posted don't let it dry by itself..it needs to be wiped dry. My leather looks almost as good as the day I bought it, minus some minor cuts in the fabric which I'll assume came from stuff poking out of peoples pockets.

I use Meguiar's Gold Class Cleaner & Conditioner. It leaves the leather looking like new in one step. It doesn't leave it shiny like Armor All.
