  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2015 V6 Genesis with 18" Hankooks. I live in Florida and my driving is not aggressive . What kind of miles are you guys and girls getting on the same tire? Thanks

Not too many more.... they've been recalled. ;)
You can probably choose your replacement. There have been posts on here that you can go to Discount Tire, etc... and get a credit toward a replacement of your choice. (Pay the difference if it's more than the Hankooks)

To clarify - this is a recall, not just the previous driveablilty campaign. There have been reports of sidewall failures, so it's best not to mess with it.

Thanks for the quick reply. IYO what is the best tire for the car (Florida driving, not aggressive)

I am not sure yet what tire specifically for the Genesis. I have Michelins, and they are OK. (I'm not subject to the recall) I have seen excellent reviews for the Continental DWS, but in your area there may be a better option. The DWS are very good in snow for an all season tire.

It depends on what is most important to you. Can you list these in order of importance to you?:
  1. Tread Wear miles
  2. Quiet comfortable ride
  3. Handling and Braking
  4. Wet road conditions
  5. Snow conditions
Keep in mind that for many tires, priorities 1 and 3 (as I listed them) are mutually exclusive to each other, etc.

I also have the factory hankooks on mine and looking for suggestions on replacements. I am also in FL and dont drive aggressively.

Quiet and comfortable is priority, then handling, then wet road then wear. The only time I have snow in FL is in my glass with alcohol.

I would go with the Continental DWS 06. One of the best all around tires out there IMHO not to mention you get great tread wear life out of them.

As Mark mentioned earlier the tire you get really depends on what you want out of a tire. I live in SC so I'm going with a Summer tire since we get very little snow here and the below 50 degrees doesn't worry me. I'm also going to go with 255's front and 285's rear for better handling and looks.

I'm still working through the most important features to me (grip vs wear) and it's down to Michelin, Dunlop, Kumhos, Stones, Pirelli, Conti, and Hankook.

This might help some:
