  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How much off MSRP did you get ? And what part of the country are you in ?

I haven't bought one, but I was at my dealership in north Dallas (Plano TX) at Genesis of Plano last weekend and they said they're turning several 2021 G80's a month, and they sell when the come in, with a waiting list. He said they sell them for sticker because there are buyers ready to pay. They don't mark them up. The salesman is trusted (bought and worked with him in past), I believe him.

The reason that I asked where you are located is because I believe that the distribution of the G80 varies a lot. I saw online a dealership in Thousand Oaks, CA that has 17 2021 G80’s in stock. I’m in Long Island, NY where Autotrader shows that there are only 20 of them within 300 miles. I am test driving one tomorrow from a dealership that has 3 of them. Didn’t this car come out in Oct. ? What’s up with this ? More coronavirus supply chain disruptions?

Could be simple shipping logistics - if they ship from Korea, CA is closer to ship to than NY. If they are selling quickly in CA, why pay thousands of $$ to ship them across the country.

They only started being listed at U.S. dealerships exactly 3 weeks ago.

I’m negotiating now for 2021 g80 in Texas they seem willing to go a few percentage points under see Mrsp. Will post final price.

My current lease is over March 15th. I’m hoping for greater availability and more realistic #’s by then.

$1k below MSRP and they gave us a good value for our 2013 Lexus GS trade-in. We took delivery on 15 January. Annapolis, MD. So far the car is wonderful. Head and shoulders above the GS and the GS was a very nice ride. I'm gonna go back and trade-in my 2016 RX for a GV80.

I paid 69500 out the door for a 3.5 prestige in Texas

Purchased my 2021 G80 RWD 2.5T Prestige on December 28, 2020. Paid MSRP $58,025 plus tax plus actual DMV fees - no dealer fee, doc fees, or any other fees.*

*Technically, the dealer needed to list the dealer fee, doc fee, and other fees on the form, but reduced the MSRP by the amount of these fees. I didn't care since the OTD price was the same.

I received 3,075 off MSRP on a 69,075 MSRP. Better than paying sticker, but I fell in love with the car so I am happy to get anything off. I pick it up on Friday.

Congrats on the new ride! Best of luck with it. I'm jealous you're getting the HUD.

I'm talking to Coconut Creek Genesis and they discounted a no sunroof rwd car $2300 but added back $950 in their hokey dealer fees totaling $51,000 but I'm holding out for $49,900

I've not bought a car here yet but it looks like Florida is one of the worst when it comes to fees. They all do it so it makes it more difficult to get around them.
Florida law permits car dealers to add certain charges, such as tax, tag and title, to the price of a car. ... The car dealer is allowed to charge as much or as little as he or she wants to, so it may be as low as $50 or as high as $900. But, under Florida law, any such charge must be included in the advertised price.

See how it goes- a dealer closer to me asked me if I had the offer in writing. Since all communication is being done by email- yes it's in writing. Sales person wants a copy of the email to see if they can beat the price.

Personally I would just email another dealer. By asking to see it in writing they are basically calling you a liar! If you are locked into one particular dealer pick up the phone and call and speak with the new car manager. Having been in the business many many moons ago I can tell you salespeople test the buyers temperature sometimes with a lot of useless back and forth. That’s exactly what happened a few days ago on my 2017 purchase. I just picked up the phone and called the owner! Almost all dealers website will have an “about” tab and within that page there is usually another tab for “Meet our Staff”.

If I can get a better price and have it be closer than that's a win. My lowest offer is four hours away and the latest is one hour. I have no allegiance to any of them as they have none for me. It's all about price!

I shopped for a car like that once, sent them all an email asking for a quote on an exact car model & trim, with the acceptable colors. Told them all that the lowest bidder gets the sale. I'm in Dallas and it was a Honda, so there were about 4 dealers I contacted. None would provide a price, all replied they could give me the best deal and call them to discuss. When calling, none of them would give me a price but all said come into the dealership and will make you the best deal. They just try to get you in the store so they can pull their tactics. Stick to your question and don't give in, keep asking until they give you something, and if they won't, tell them they are out of the race. I did end up going in and buying one at the closest dealer - got a good price. It was a 2003 Honda Pilot.
