  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Title. Ever since getting a remote starter installed, it seems like LKAS doesn’t work as well anymore. It still works but seems to have more trouble keeping me in the lane.

Could the remote starter be the reason? Or would that have nothing to do with the LKAS?

Where was the reciever installed? If up around the mirror or cameras, perhaps something got knocked out of alighnment.

The brain was installed near the obd ii port. In fact if you take the cover for the ibd ii port off you can see it (I have another post on here with a picture of it). I did not have an antenna installed because I only use the 3x lock on the factory keyfob and the drone mobile when I’m far away, and I didn’t want to carry around an extra remote. Not to mention I didn’t want the tacky looking antenna on the windshield.

The only thing I can think of is it’s either interfering with the computers (which I doubt) or a fuse got bumped during the install.

The drone mobile is cellular. It has an antenna. It might be built into the module, but an external one mounted above dash level would give better reception.
There's no fuse that could be removed to make the LKAS not work as well, but still work. If it truly is not working as well as before, that the camera was disturbed or a setting was changed (if your year has any LKAS options other than on/off). Of course, a coincidental, unrelated to the recent install, problem is possible too.

LKAS does requires alignment after a few steering alignments. It's a dealer only alignment though.

It's unlikely the dronemobile install moved the camera group behind the mirror, but anything is possible.

Also, newer roads built by governments intent on making traffic worse or integrating bicycle traffic are made with narrower lines, which are too close together for the LKAS to calibrate on. The only workaround in this case is going full Comma.AI.
