  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm thinking about purchasing a Valentine V1 radar detector but I don't want wires and junk running everywhere (and covering the beautiful DIS display). Anyone mount a radar detector? If so how did you wire it? Is there an easy way to hide the wires?

I think you should research more because I heard the Escort Passport 9500 was better than the Valentine V1.

This is debatable, but I think you will find after some research that the V1 is considered the gold standard in the industry.

I mounted my Escort 9500ix next to the rear-view mirror. There are a couple of good threads detailing the wiring, installation, and location choice. My detector has a GPS as well and it picks up the satelittes just fine where I have it mounted.
