Lock doors while engine running

Hello,

I've had my 2022 G70 2.0 prestige for over week now and I've noticed that I can't lock the doors when I step out of the vehicle while the engine is running. I've hit the lock button on the key fob and also pressed on the button on the door handle but nothing happens. Is there a setting I need to change or is this not possible?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't believe you are able to. Only thing I can think is you can try to use the manual key and lock the driver door

damn seriously? I never thought of this and assumed it locked. Are we certain it doesnt lock and its unlocking when your key comes back? Otherwise that really sucks.

Also what about when remote starting the vehicle? is it locked then?

Car remains locked if you remote start. If it's similar to my old Genesis Coupe, then you can't remote start when the car is unlocked. It may be some safety feature where you can't lock the car while it's running.

Remote start used to require you locked the doors. Many now will lock the doors and then start the car with one command on the app It will not start or run unless locked first. .

Have you tried removing the manual key from the fob? And removing the cap from the door handle? Didn't think so, or you wouldn't have suggested that. Ha ha. It's a PITA, plus without the right tools, you could damage both. At any rate, I assumed you could lock the car while running with the fob, since you wouldn't be locked out, so not sure why it's not possible. On my ex-F-150 Platinum, I could lock the vehicle via the keypad with engine running. But even if you didn't lock it, it didn't get out of P without the fob in range, so it couldn't be stolen. That was nice .

I have not actually tried but that's what I saw online on another side. I have tried to lock the car with it running and that will not work. To get to the manual key yes it's a pain but doable. Oddly enough the dealer actually gave me an extra manual key so I have 3 total. For removing the door keycap to get to the manual lock it's fairly easy. There is just a button you stick your nail in and pull.

I have tried walking up to the car without the key fob and it's unlocked.

I know that to remote start the vehicle with the key fob you have to tap the lock button twice and then press the remote start button.
