  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Noticed when i hit the lock button on key fob there isnt any beep/chirp/audio confirmation of doors being locked.. Annoying if from a distance i hit button and dont know if this worked as you can not physically hear confirmation so i have to walk way up to car.. Thanks

I have the best package available.. Im assuming the tech package?

NOTE TO MODS: It would be very handy to have the car/model info contain a year designation as most posters don't include it in their posts. Since features change from year to year it would help responses without additional posts asking for this information.

TO OP: I don't know what year/model you have but my '12 R-spec chirps very softly when locking and unlocking. In addition, the parking, tail lights and mirror lights all blink. I have not made any mods to the specs since buying the car so I think this is stock behavior.

The alarm chirp can be turned on in the settings menu. I have mine off, because between the front, mirrors, and rear turn signals, I always know if the doors lock and alarm is armed.

I checked the menu and it says door lock sound on.. But still no audible sound.. Im here intexas and when its hot and bright as all get out during day i cannot see the lights go on or off.. As this is to why i would like to be able to hear it chirp.. I have a 2011 4.6 genesis btw

I would make sure that all the doors, trunk, and hood is closed all the way and try again.

Make sure there is a rubber piece pushing the censor under the hood. You should see it about mid way through on the right side (driver side). It's a size of candy (rolo)

You will find some posts that actually talk about this. Hope this helps. :)

Let us know if it worked!

I have a 2012 5.0 Tech and there is no option for a chirp. I took it to the dealer and they could not find it either in the menu

I didn't like the added attention, especially late at night when I'm doing questionable things with questionable people, so I turned mine off:D

I know this is a 4 yr old post. I just wanted to confirm it works. That's why I like browsing through this forum! I alwaysfind useful info if i dig deep enough.
I always wondered about the no chirp no lights flash on lock, and now I fixed it. I actually confirmed it worked by holding the "button" and locking doors with fob and it blinked and chirped. I did a super cheesy/easy quick fix and found an old bolt that fits in the hole inside the hood and duct taped it there. :) It presses the button when the hood is closed and doesn't fall out when the hood is open. I'm getting my oil changed at the dealership soon so I will see if they have the actual piece. If not I'm sure I can find one somewhere or something comparable.
