  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey folks, I know it's a long-shot, but I figured I'd ask anyway. I'm trying to obtain the KDM (Korean Domestic Market) wiring diagram for the KDM headlights. Specifically, I need the pin out definitions on the headlight cable. Unfortunately North American Hyundai service personnel don't have access to KDM documentation (they've tried).

My issue is I (along with a couple others) are using the KDM headlamps in our vehicles and when the cars are in DRL mode, there is an amber flicker that's quite annoying. My local dealer told me that the amber flickering is a sign of a grounding problem, and it's something I'd like to get solved for once and for all.

Thanks in advance!

Certainly worth a shot but I'm doubtful you'll find a fix...

The KDM amber LED's are intended to operate only as blinkers/flashers - not remain on. Also on the 2015 USA model, the turn signal and DRL signal come down the same wire - so I'm thinking its more of the signal being at fault. Remember, the NA DRL signal was intended to operate a single incandescent bulb - not a strip of LED's.

I'm thinking this might not be an issue on the 2016 as it has the dedicated DRL pin/wire. So it might be plug and play except for running the High Beam leads. I do like the KDM headlights and have considered swapping out, but not sure I want to spend the $ to be a 2016 guinea pig? We'll see

Good luck and I hope you can get it working properly.

Thanks Nikgen. I agree the amber isn't supposed to stay on, but what's interesting is that in Korea, those lights function as DRLs just like in the US (see below photo). I suppose that's consistent with your message that it's signal and not wiring. In any case if I had the KDM wiring diagram it would be helpful to at least see if it's possible. I'm completely flying blind without it.

I'd reach out to Jei or Dan at KDM motors and see if they can get you the information you need. They have a contact in the parts department of a Korean Hyundai dealership. Worth a shot.

Agreed - the wiring diagram would be really helpful! Also check if the Body Control Module is a different part #?
