  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I have owned several Hyundai cars along with my family members and friends. Most of them were long term vehicles with little maintenance needed. I bought a gen2 genesis sedan 2015. Never had any issues but regular maintenance but have noticed the dealership has been harder to get appointments lately. Are they back logged or is there many issues with the newer models? I have been eyeing a g70 ever since they were released and would love to own one but am afraid of service issues. In my opinion it is useless to make a vehicle that may be compared to bmw Audi or the other European cars and not have the excellent service that goes with said brands. Does anyone else see this issue too?

Many dealers are having problems. First was the pandemic. Now we are seeing the results of lack of techs to work on cars.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Adding to what @EdP said above, consider the fact that the dealerships are now much busier as there are so many Genesis owners. These are people who'd have normally purchased, and serviced, at another brand. So it'll be much busier and more challenging to get a service appointment than before...

The G70 will be discontinued at the end of the '24 model year due to low demand vs. SUVs and while the vehicles are good, GMA dealers' service is far from luxury level as reflected in the annual J. D. Power surveys and numerous threads on the forum.
