  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys all the best to you, my names Mike I live in CT. I’m thankful for this site it’s helped me a lot since I bought my 1st Gen 3 years back a silver G70 2.0. Well a nice story I suppose for an introduction you might enjoy lok, I went to buy out that lease 2 weeks ago & the same exact car me & my father picked first 3 yrs ago is sitting by the door, it was sold the day I was supposed to test drive it as it was used & couldn’t be held. So I bought that instead 😂🍻

Same year as the last except it was white & a 3.3, but holds a lot of sentimental value. It’s a long story but to sum up, at a time my dad struggled I almost bought the same vette he had so we could race again lol. He convinced me otherwise but the thought meant a lot. Just to give him things to look forward to he loved doing, make him want to fight. Some of the best memories I have are racing together, especially side by side at 160mph at Watkins Glen 😅 He used to race even dirt/drift tracks, me more street/highway, similar lol. Instead of the vette route tho we chose a car w/ the same juice but safer & 4 doors, had a trunk since I was coaching etc, he made a lot of sense. Smartest guy I know so I listened lol. We were sad the day I didn’t go & had to buy another, but by some act of Jesus the lease was turned in just as I’m turning in mine 3 years later. Fitting it was close to Fathers Day too I think. Parked right in front, said Mike! on the windshield. I knew somethin was up 🤔😂

I thought what better way to honor him, his help & decision making that’s his favorite thing if it came to working on cars together or stuff like buying/planning mods, all the work he put in researching & looking as a team. I made a custom emblem that says “Lucky 47” too. 47 was his birth year & seems to bring me luck & kind of become the theme of the car, the badge I had done in the same cursive style as the old 63 split window vette had since that was our favorite project. Lots of little ideas already implemented I could write a book even after 2 weeks lol but lots of fun & thought going into it, next is his pinstripe style in his color red on the hood to match the rest of the red which just happens to be almost the same red brembo used for the brakes, perfect lol 🍻 Could not be happier about that. Same style cursive will be used for his initials on the shotgun door too the way he would do on every car besides a vette lol, same guy that did it is coming out of retirement bc they loved him & the sentimentality of the project I guess so that means a lot, among other old buddies of his helping & providing guidance w the things I can’t do yet myself. I’m thankful for them as well as all of you for that guidance, I can’t tell you how hard it was to find good info outside of this site on such a new brand/car lol you guys have been a godsend, look forward to hearing your stories trials & testing as well in the future too:)

I good way of saying "thank you" is to get a paid membership to help pay for thw upkeep and software needed to run this.

Sure thing happy to help! Here’s acouple updated pics just finished the glove design last night, needs minor adjustments but pretty happy. Some of it I had to hacksaw couldn’t get a drill saw in the angles 😅😂 The red part of it showed up outta nowhere last night too like 730pm it said the 28th on Amazon & was still in China lol. Holds meaning tho from what they came from too, an old 427 engine in a 67 vette we built together is what the badges I cut from originated from but just using the 4 & 7. Matches his red perfect tho, cant tell ya how much stuff I sent back already that didnt match, gotta be right lol 🍻

Pretty cool. That red Twin Turbo badge matches nicely. And I thought I recognized that 4 and 7. I miss seeing those old 427 badges on GM vehicles.
