  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have 2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG and have been eyeballing the genesis since it came out.

I think it's time to start getting serious. I was resigned to the fact I would be looking at a 2009 just for the cost but I saw a 2011 with 20k miles on it for 22,999 at a dealership 60 miles away.

From the research I did that seems like a great deal?? Am I allowed to post a link to the listing from car gurus?

I see 2009's with about the same mileage listed for that price. I was going to do some more looking and sell my call privately but I'm tempted to drive up there sat. and just trade it in on the car if it checks out.

It's certified and I was hoping for black but it's the silver color which would be fine by me.

Any advice? I usually buy my cars at auctions so I haven't had much experience going through dealerships. I have read through edmunds a few times on buying tips etc....

Might be worth a visit to TrueCar.com for an independent price check. Being certified helps, but make sure you know exactly what that means. My dealer was very straightforward to deal with. No BS whatsoever.

checked out true car, they are calling it a "great price" It's been listed for 278 days according to car gurus, not sure how accurate that is. but if true they must be desperate to unload it. It is the only used genny sedan they have though so maybe they are just sitting on it, who knows.

tried to do some internet digging on the vin #.... looks like it was registered as a rental, but after 8k miles it was put up for sale at a dealership for $19,999. This other dealership must have gotten from them and then did the hyundai certification on it and jacked up the price to $22999.

I not 100% sure on the 19999 listing but i went deep into the pages of google and found the same vin # with that amount, kinda fun!
