  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, I am new to this forum and stumbled across this section. Let me start off saying that not all dealerships are bad. I work as a Sales/Lease Consultant at Annapolis Hyundai. We truly believe in customer service(check us out on dealerrater.com)

If anyone in Maryland needs a dealership to go to we are it. My name is Ray and our service dept is top notch. I look forward to talking with everyone here and answering any questions anyone has. I have lots of knowledge I am willing to share to make sure everyone enjoys their Genesis. Let me know if you need anything. Talk you all later:)

Hey Ray, I'm currently in the market for an R-SPEC 5.0 2012-2013. There seems to only be a handful in the Baltimore area at a time. So far we've been to carmax twice, and are currently looking at a 2012 that's located in owings mills.

"Northwest Honda" doesn't have good reviews at all.. so i'm kind of worried about attempting to deal with them.

So the 13' R-Spec at carmax was going for about $28K for a car with 16-17k miles on it-- which made me feel good because I "assumed" the factory warranty would still be valid. But, after taxes and all there fees the car came out to being around $35K which was steep.

Because my eyes are fixed on the 5.0 RSPEC, I compromised with myself and searched for models with a little more millage.

I've heard good things about Hyundai in Laurel off 198. You could also check the Kia dealer in Laurel to see if they can get you one from auction. Carmax will rape you; id stay away from them if at all possible.

$28k sounds pretty good.

Yeah but of course that just the sticker price, by the time they factored in title, tags, tax, and fees it jumped up to damn near 35,000 dollars. Way more than i expected-- this is my first major car purchase.

So i've decided to look for 2012 models .. which are going for about 26-27k not including registration, and fees. Can you guys check this out and let me know what you think.

I'm terribly worried because i'm still unsure about the reliability of Hyundai .. note they told me the factory warranty is no longer valid.

I payed 22 for my 2011 4.6 with 25k, for reference. Look into auction cars. Reliability seems good so far, but others would need to chime in on that...

That's what they were asking in my case. It was a FLA car, so I had to pay transport, but that was fine.

Give them your comfortable OTD price and see what they say. Research Manheim auction prices so you know what they are realistically picking them up for.

The Hyundai dealership in Laural said they'd check the auction for me. Tail i wish I had an associate with access to the post sales results but a dealers license is require or an account is required rather.

I will see what I can find out for you
