  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
My wife bought here genesis a few years back and it had a slight mark on the hood, almost like a bad detailer lightly scratched it up while buffing. Well over the last few months the spot has grown and has now started to look extremely bad. I can't place exactly what is wrong with it, if it's oxidation, sun damage, missing clear coat. I was hoping for some advice on what it could be and possible fixes.

Nasty looking. Spreading like a fungus?

No idea the cause but at this point the fix looks like sanding down and repaint the area.

It looks like my truck. The clear coat took a beating because of the sun. The only fix is cutting the clear coat and if the base coat is ok, respray the clear coat. If the base coat is also bad, then a complete repaint of the area will be required. You will then have to hope the painter can blend the paint so your paint looks the same all over.
