  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just purchased a 2015 Genesis 3.8, HTRAC with 10000 miles. Looking for a reputable shop (dealership or not) that will provide the right service for the right price. I have already crossed off the Corona and Ontario Hyundai dealerships because of their lack of integrity. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I would try a dealer near Hyundai Motor America headquarters in Fountain Valley, CA.

Looks like there are Hyundai dealers in Huntington Beach, Tustin, and Garden Grove.

Looks like Tustin Hyundai has the best google user rating, followed by Huntington Beach Hyundai. Garden Grove Hyundai doesn't look so good in terms of google user rating.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I take my car into Tustin Hyundai and have always been treated right. There are other Hyundai dealers closer to where I live, but the extra drive to Tustin is always worth it for their service. Plus their prices have always seemed reasonable to me compared to other Hyundai dealerships in the area. If you do decide to use them, make sure to print out their service coupons on their website prior to any service visit.

We bought our Genesis at Tustin Hyundai. Used to go there for service but got annoyed that even if I had an appointment for an oil change in the am, the car wouldn't be worked on until the afternoon. What's the point of having an appointment if you'd still have to wait. Plus they refused to check the angle of my headlights since I was lowered. The two aren't related but they seemed to think so.

There is no way to guarantee the exact timing of a reservation in the auto repair business, just like in the restaurant business, airline business, or hotel business. Sometimes things happen, and they have no way to know how long it takes to do the repairs in front of you. People get bumped from flights, hotels, etc all the time. A restaurant cannot enforce the amount of time people already seated take to eat their meal.

If you lowered your car, the warranty on headlight aim is void. There can be absolutely no other way to handle that. If you want to pay them to look at it, then I assume they would have, right?

Actually, I did offer to pay. They said they would only be able to adjust it if it was stock height. Wouldn't even add it to the list of things to check when I was checking in.

In regards to my appointment, it was for 9am but wasn't worked on until 3, with an "it's ready" notification around 4. I understand sh*t happens as this is not my first time around the block. However, that long of a wait for somebody who arrived at 830 for a 900 appointment for an OIL CHANGE is ridiculous, especially if I was waiting in the waiting area. If there was a snafu in the bays, somebody should have come and notified me so that I could just come back another time. But a wait that long for an oil change with an appointment is ridiculous, no matter how you try to spin it.

OK, that does sound like there was a problem with their scheduling. In those cases, you have to be very firm about when the car will be ready, not just when you will bring it in.

The few times I have brought my car to the dealer for recalls (I do my own oil changes), I make sure to arrive 15 min before they open and tell them I am waiting for it in the waiting room. Or, I leave the car in the morning and have them drive me to work, then get a ride back to the dealer by a co-worker at the end of the day.

Alright, I gave the Anaheim Hyundai a chance but the operator kept trying to answer questions rather than just transferring the call. I ended up down at Tustin, which is actually where the first owner bought the vehicle. I wasn't able to to take to the service dept due to the lateness of the afternoon on a Sat, but the sales rep was very receptive when I registered for the Blue-Link.

Now, to all of you veteran owners out there, as a second owner, I am only under warranty till 60 mos or 60000 miles (I believe that I have 44 mos and about 50000 miles still to go), do/should I get the preventive maintenance performed at the dealer or not?

What specifically are you talking about? The maintenance requirements are described in the owners manual. Do not ask the dealer to tell you what is needed, and do not get a dealer "XX,XXX mile maintenance service." Only have the specific tasks done that are described in the owners manual at the appropriate mileage interval. Unless you fit into the "severe" conditions most of the time, use the normal service interval.

Forget about inspections, as the dealer will look at most stuff for free any time the car is in the shop for other stuff.

You do not need to have the maintenance performed by a dealer. However, I would recommend you purchase Hyundai parts (filters ,etc) from the Hyundai parts department. Make sure that any service done by yourself or another shop is sufficiently documented in case there is a warranty issue.

Tire rotations can be done by a tire shop if you have had good experience with them before. I would recommend Costco or Discount Tires for rotations, even on the OEM tires.
