  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking to buy my first Genesis, but wondering about compatibility with Comma 3x

I have Comma 3x on my 2022 Ford F150 and won't buy another vehicle that doesn't support this device. Below is a list of what Comma.ai indicates which Genesis vehicles are supported. There are some glaring gaps that I suspect (ok, "hope") are there simply because Comma.ai has not yet verified whether or not the Comma 3x will work, rather than that it DOESN'T work.

In the case of Ford, for example, from 2024 onward on the F150, the Comma 3x will no longer work due to some type of encryption Ford has chosen to use. I'm hoping this is NOT the reason why, for example, the GV80 shows 2023 is supported, but nothing mentioned beyond that year. I've never even been in a Genesis, but did have a 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid that we loved, but sold because it could not be flat towed and we were hitting the road in our motorhome and needed a vehicle to tow, but otherwise had really loved that vehicle.

As it stands, we are currently leaning toward the GV80, but won't know for sure until we visit the dealership in the next few days. I'd prefer a newer vehicle than a 2023, but if we stay with our GV80 choice and nothing later than 2023 will support the Comma 3x, then so be it.

So, in general, can anyone comment as to if there is reason to hope that most Genesis vehicles likely will/will not support the Comma 3x even if not specifically mentioned on the below list (really only interested in 2023 and newer). Screenshot 2025-07-15 at 2.09.09 PM.webp
