  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm looking to swap out the factory mufflers with something that has some growl to it. What would you recommend. The mufflers or the whole cat back system. If so what brand names should I look for.. Borla , Walker, Magnaflow. Or should I delete the mufflers or delete the resonator. Would that void the warranty. I know that it would not pass the safety check in my province.

I have considered deleting the resonate pipes on my 5.0 and replacing it with an x-pipe. However, I really do not want my Genesis to drone on the highway. I have removed resonators on less luxurious cars I owned in the past and they did develop a droning noise on the highway. In my younger days I thought the "increased performance" was worth the extra noise, not anymore. I do not want my Genesis sounding like a modded out Mustang.:(

It would sound cool, but just seem wrong to have a Genesis with an exhaust that is loud and sporty sounding. The Genesis sedans are like most Audi in that it does not seem right to make them sound raw and unrefined. Just my opinion.

If it affects the emissions system it would and should void the warranty. Its a luxury car, not a hot rod. Too loud would just give the impression it is defective.
