  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Saw my first Love Bug of the May season today. The two Love Bug seasons in Florida are May and September.

To those of you who do not live in the SouthEast, LoveBugs are small bugs that fly around stuck butt to butt (hence, LoveBug) that have no natural enemys, other than car windshields and radiators. They don't bite, or anything like that. They are only a pain in the XXX. Birds will not eat them as they have some kind of acid in their system and they don't "taste" good. You have to wash them off the paint, as that same acid will eat the paint if left on the car. In years when there are a lot of them, it seems that they all tend to die on my front porch, and I have to hose them off every couple days.
Last year, both May and September were not too bad for them. Don't know what this year will be like, but I saw my first pair today.

Because of this, I adjusted my "LoveBug Screen" over the front of the car. Had to adjust it, as the screen was set up for my previous car.

:mad::eek::(

What is your Love Bug screen? I need one before these "PUKE BUGS":mad: contaminate my car. I live in Hinesville, Ga btw so I know what you mean (they're real annoying).

I buy them at WalMart or at any auto parts store. They call them bug screens. Nothing fancy. Just spread from one side to the other, and I hook them (hooks included) in the front wheel wells.

The ones I am using now are ones I've had for a couple years. The one on the Continental is quite beat up, and the edges are starting to tear, but it still works.
Don't look great, but it does protect the front.
