  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

im looking for options to replace the H11 55w Halogens with something brighter and whiter- closer to the HIDs. Anybody have any experience with this? Preferrably a DOT approved option?

I've always liked Sylvania Silverstar headlights but they don't seem to be available in H11 format.

GE Nighthawk bulbs may be an acceptable alternative although I haven't used them myself and I'm not sure they're available in H11 either.

Low Beams are HID. It's the High Beams that are Halogen.

thanks for the info. I will review the options. Any experience with PIAA bulbs?

PIAA bulbs are ok but from my experience they burn out too often. I have had silverstars in other cars and no problems at all

You also have to be careful as a lot of them operate at a higher-than-spec wattage, which may damage the wiring harness over time.
