  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A couple of days ago, I was waiting for my dealer oil change, walking around, etc., and I saw this new 2012 R-Spec on the showroom floor. I was blown away by the price. $35,999. Yes, I know, it's a 2012, and I understand all about depreciation and upcoming model year, etc., etc. I was still blown away by the value, and owning and driving a 2012 R-Spec every day, I thought, "what a huge opportunity this will be for a person who loves these cars and doesn't worry about trading the car in within the next few years. And what if they'll go even lower???

And yes, I also know there will be people that think this is not a good deal.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Plus you can probably pick it up for cheaper than that... and still get that great warranty.

Nice find.

[EDIT] Here's a question - now that the guaranteed trade-in value programs is gone, I'm guessing it wouldn't apply to this car, is that correct? I can't remember all the details -- I know the 2012 Genesis was covered, but I'm sure Hyundai was smart enough to put a program end date on it? (shrugs shoulders)

'cause you know what I'm thinking... buy the car, enjoy for a couple of years, and trade it in for a ridiculous % of MSRP...

I tried to buy that vehicle in January-they were at around 41K at the time. Vehicle was listed with 2,000 miles. I think the GM or owner was driving it, but I could not work with them on my trade.

The car I'm driving was the GM's black car, also with 2,000 mi. Paid $40K in the fall of 2011.

Not that low. I paid $37,500 OTD on a car with 6,000 miles on it. CPO and GM driven car too. And it was black. White ones go for even less since it's less desirable.

The lowest R-Spec I've seen was at a non-Hyundai dealership w/ 30k miles with a list price of $31k and some change.
