  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I operate the lumbar support to push towards my back, the seat feels very nice, but it doesn't stay put. I have never moved it back, but it seems to reset itself. Is it supposed to work that way? Has anyone else noticed this?

My car is a 2010, with the premium package (no tech).

Thanks. Looks like I need to have Hyundai look at it.

I was flipping through the hmaservice.com service manuals and I noticed the lumbar supports appear to be basically balloons. I wasn't paying close attention... I just recall seeing this.

If that's true, it means when you operate the control switch, a small air pump kicks in and pumps up various bladders... it's not a motor moving a physical lumbar support like many other cars use.

And what happens when you move the control switch aft to reduce the lumbar support? On my car I don't hear a motor/pump running - when I first got the car I thought the lumbar switch was busted in that direction because I couldn't hear the motor (like I can in any other switch direction) and it seemed like the lumbar wasn't moving aft. But if I moved the switch downwards it also seemed to move aft. If it IS an air pump/bladder system, then moving the switch aft just lets air bleed out of the bladders - no pump needed. It probably bleeds slowly; slower than it inflates so that's probably why I thought mine was busted at first. Perhaps the bleed valve is leaking in your car?

whatever, let the dealer do the warranty work like they're supposed to.

You are probably right. It occurred to me a couple of times that the thing might be an air device and that would explain why it seems to deflate. I hate to have the seat taken apart, but I really need the support there.

I find the lumbar support to low in the seat to be affective for me. When I do inflate it and move it all the way down its still not high enough to reach where I need it. Nice option to have though.:)

Mine seems to keep inflation pretty well maybe they vent and my venter doesn't work, who knows. I find mine too low also and even when moved up all the way it is still too low. Is that what you mean Seattle?

Maybe has to do with tall Americans, 6' 1" +. I have thought about pulling the seat bottom down. I removed the seat in My Murano and laced the seat springs at the rear part down about 1" further than my weight deflects the seat. It worked great giving me some needed hear room.

I am so far behind on car mods that it is way down on the last, after air horn, yellow fogs and replacing the Hi-beams. etc.

My issue is that the lumbar support inflates but will not deflate. Right now it appears to be completely inflated. Anyone think there is a fuse for the deflate and another for the deflate side? Certainly not.
