Magnaflows installed..now what?

So as the above title reads I just had a pair of magnaflow mufflers installed. Noticeable change in performance and definitely opens up that V8 growl..my question is for my intake..would dropping the K&N filter available in the stock box or custom making a "CAI"be better. I only ask because I have heard that the stock box is actually a good design..any suggestions? Also the magnaflow x pipe..good upgrade as well? Will it create a lot more drone in the cabin or just make it flow better?

Yes, adding the x-pipe will cause drone. I have the full system for my v6 (it's actually for the R-spec but fits the v6). It causes a fair amount of internal resonance when accelerating. I built a custom intake as well. I don't think just adding a K&N panel will help too much. The restriction in the intake isn't necessarily the filter. It's all the ribbed, curved tubing and the resonator bottles within.

The correct X pipe will REDUCE drone, and not add. I bought a standard MagnaFlow X pipe at 1st, but was informed my exhaust expert to return. I'm glad I listened. I've changed my exhaust a couple of times. I started with the MagnaFlow mufflers. Last year I added a Dynomax X pipe which is built into a muffler. This replaced the OEM H pipe. This type of X pipe reduces unwanted exhaust frequencies (DRONE). My exhaust sound after this X Pipe install might be a tiny bit quieter, but the tone is better and the drone is reduced to a satisfying level. My YouTube link in my sig has a few video's. I will upload a new video with the X Pipe soon. I modified my exhaust long before any vendor manufactured a cat back system and at that time it was questionable if any one actually would make one. If I were to have a stock exhaust on my car I would purchase the MagnaFlow catback system and just simply add the Dynomax X pipe muffler in replacement of the MagnaFlow X pipe.

Regarding the intake. You can remove the flapper in the air box (one screw, takes 30 secs), remove the second air filter (aka the sponge) for free, which in conjunction with a K&N drop in, makes for a quick/simple/cheap mod. I also capped off my intake tube where the intake silencer was. Not as good as a true CAI, but all-in, I'm sitting at 40 bucks or so.
