  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been playing around with the new Genesis Nav and love the large display and the directions in the HUD, but noticed the maps are surprisingly out of date. They added a major toll road through my area about 18 months ago and it's not on the nav. So basically every time I do directions that take me out of my city it tries to take you completely the wrong way. My Garmin maps which I updated about a year ago already have this road. I had a couple questions...

1) Which version of maps does the car use and how old are they?
2) I noticed an SD card slot do you get a first upgrade free or what would the cost be on this?

It's not a huge deal, but a little disappointing for a brand new car to be out of date especially when it just happens to be a road that is such a major part of routes.

This discussion has gone on for years. Hyundai's maps are notoriously out of date with updates, when they are available, EXPENSIVE !

I have yet to own a navi car where the maps were not a good 2+ years behind.

I would complain about the old map software when you next talk with your dealer. Have them log the complaint and check for updates. I did this with my 2012 and the dealership did agree to update the system for free once an update was available.

Yep that should fall within the "free 12 month adjustments" clause.

Is it possible to upload the maps so we can update ourselves?
