  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I finally got around to update my maps. While downloading the update into my laptop and then to the SD card took about 30 minutes each, once I inserted the card into the car it took literally less than a minute to update. I took pics of the system info before the update to verify it had updated and it is a new version.

Did others have a similar experience or should I brace for everything to go wrong now? Also, did anyone experience momentary loss of sound (radio, Bluetooth, USB music)? I had no sound so I turned the car off and on again and sound came back...

It has always taken me around an hour for the update from the SD in the car. I suspect that you only updated the maps, and not any of the software.

How would I go about ensuring all software is updated? I don't recall seeing any other available updates for my car :(

Does not sound right. I've updated two different cars quite a few times and it was always in the 20 to 40 minute range.
During the update the radio and cameras do not work but you can drive while it is going. I wonder if it was still processing since you had no sound.

I have attempted the update several times now with no positive results (the only component that updates is the maps and I lose voice navigation [i. e. the system navigates, but doesn't give voice prompts]).

I found a site that recommends using both an SD card AND a USB drive...Has anyone have had success with this approach?

On a different note, I wonder if I downloaded the correct updates. My car is a 2025 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan ultimate. However when I looked up the update using the S/W Ver (DH.USA.SOP.10.005) the Navigation Updater app identified it as a 2014...

Some (all?) 2015s require the USB drive and SD card. I needed both for my first update, subsequent updates were SD card only.

Can any of y'all kindly point an idiot such as myself towards some instructions on where to obtain updates to load onto the sd card and/or kind of an overview of the process? No idea how up to date the stuff in my 2015 might be, but I've noticed myself driving down a number of (not brand new) roads that aren't on the gps map.

Thanks a bunch! I'll look over this stuff tonight. Had kind of mentally set it aside as a "get around to it" project, but if this carries actual head unit software updates/patches along with the map stuff, it seems pretty worthwhile to do. Fully likely this car is still running its factory original 2014 versions as little as it's been driven.

I installed the 2022 navi map update late in 2022. After the update I lost all navi voice directions and my audio volume control would only display navi volume level, not the radio. Only way to get the radio volume back was to cancel all navigation and shut off the car and restart.
Today I downloaded the 2023 navi/system update and attempted to install. It appeared to install OK but I still have no navi sound. Also, it appears I now have the latest navi map version (16.47.47.602.101.3) but I do NOT have the latest system software version (USA.SOP.10.031). My display says I still have an older version (USA.SOP.10.005). Any suggestions?? How do I get the latest system S/W version?
