Mapnsoft v14 on the Horizon

Saw that the maps in the G70 and 80s will be getting another new update soon...

No knowledge of the features. I'm hoping for a better look overall as I really like what they did on the USB

After 6 months of bugging my local Genesis retailer for the latest update I finally received it. Now I can excitedly look forward to waiting another 6 months minimum for this release too!

I really don't know what the hold-up was. I'm in Canada, so for me to get the map updates I need to put in a request to my local Genesis adviser in order to sign up for the update. I don't know if there was some sort of mix-up in forwarding my request or what happened, but I had to ask 3 times before I finally received the map update. It would be nice if I could skip the middle man and just request the update myself.

You can get it and do it yourself fairly easily at least in the States. I also waited far too long for my local service department before pulling the trigger and doing it myself. This is billed to GMA and is free of charge.

Yeah, I downloaded the update on a laptop that had a card slot, took my card out of the car and used their tool to copy the upgrade to the card. Popped it back in and I was on 13.5. Of course, follow their instructions.

Mapnsoft do the map updates twice a year, usually March and August.

We know....just pointing out they are on schedule. Plus, a TON of people on this site don't even know you can use the Mapnsoft site.

Anyone buy a spare card to avoid formatting the working card? Any recommended brands or models?

I had them ship the update to me on another "OEM" SD card to avoid compatibility issues. Genesis USA covered the shipping as well.

I'm in Vancouver, I just used the site to download the update onto my existing sd card and updated to 13.5. My dealer said I had to go through him but my suspicion of them not knowing what they're talking about was right.

Just open an account and add your VIN and update away

I'll bet they won't ship you a brand new card....import laws perhaps? But, I never understood why you couldn't download the software...

Agree with the original poster.. Hope there is an overhaul of the interface to be more Genesis specific. Not super important to me but it would be nice!

Make it a bit more polished looking in terms of graphics and maybe a few premium features not available in a Hyundai. Fact is the system is very well done in terms of functionality, so improving from that perspective isn't likely.
