Memory seat problem

I have a 2013 Genesis 3.8 with the tec and premium package. After my wife drives the car and uses her setting #2 and I am the next driver and push #1 it moves into position, but not the exact position it was previously set at. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so what is the fix?

Make sure you gear is in "park" position, then hit "1" - that is your setting.

Also, change it so that your wife's setting is #1 and you are #2. You must be a newlywed not to know about the true pecking order of a marriage.

All kidding aside, yes the memory is a bit wonky. Sometimes it forgets and makes up its own mind where it thinks it should be.

there were a couple of seat-related TSBs for the older ones (my 2011 had 2 done - sorry i can't remember details). maybe mention to the dealer?

at least one of the TSBs is for limit switches, which occasionally failed in the 2009-2010 years.

When they fail you know it, the seat will get stuck either all the way up or back, which can be ... challenging

Memory just moves it to the wrong place sometimes.

I've found that if you shift into gear quickly when you first start the car (and before the car moves the seat for you) then the seat stays where it was when you first shifted. Once you "tell" the car that is where you want it, it adjusts to that position when you start/stop. It isn't until you hit your pre-programmed button that it goes to where you *really* want it.

I have the same problem with my 2013 3.8 Premium. Happens so infrequently that I doubted myself, but sometimes pressing my preset pushes the seat much further back than I set it. Will probably live with it as there's no way I'd be able to recreate it for the dealer.
