  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Crap, first post and wrong forum...

Hello,

Recently I test drove the 2.5L 2023, it had strictly leatherette (no power bolsters). I got back from the test drive and I found it pretty stiff, uncomfortable, didn't really conform to my body. The sales guy brought me out to another model they had, which had the mesh inserts in the leatherette. It definitely had more padding than the leatherette exclusive one had and immediately felt more comfortable (including power bolsters).

He said that the suede is more comfortable than the mesh (which are the only options around here: Leatherette, mesh insert, or suede insert), but comparing it to the BMW 2022 X3 I sat in, it feels a fair bit less comfortable. The X3 hugged and supported me where it felt needed.

The only downside of the GV70 for me was the comfort of the plain leatherette. I placed an order for the suede 2.5L (because in my opinion the mesh felt a little bit too rough, felt like it would catch on my girlfriends lulu lemons, dresses, etc). I'm 6ft with a skinny build, my current vehicle is ridiculously uncomfortable for me and I never want to go through the pain again. Thinking of ordering the BMW X3 as well and then worst case just give it up if the GV70 is more comfortable, but order times differ fairly drastically (GV70 expected. 3-4 months, X3 1-2 months).

I'm wondering if any of you have had similar experience with the seats. I found a couple threads with one or two replies about this, but the more the merrier. Maybe some of you have experienced more comfort in the X series BMW vs. the GV70/80?

Cheers

I drove everything I could get my hands on and I found the GV70 to be middle of the pack. The suede inserts are quite unique and that's what I ended up buying. I prefer the seats to be a bit on the firmer side and the suede is great for very cold winter days (I live in Edmonton) to avoid the initial shock. The only thing I've noticed is that the right bolster on the seat tends to dig into my ribs on the right side for some reason, so I'm trying to readjust the way I'm sitting in it - I tend to lean over and rest on the console too much. Other than that, I'm finding them the most comfortable seats in any vehicle I've owned so far, but I have never owned a BMW, specifically. I got my GV70 in just over 3 months, but that was exceptional based on the stats we've tracked for other orders. I think it's safe to say most sales people exaggerate how quickly they receive orders - no matter who you're talking to!

Good luck in your search!
