  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just curious if anyone else uses metallized window tint. I put it on mine and love how it looks. I know you can supposedly have issues with it but I have never experienced any and have used it on my last three cars with no issues.

I'm a 20 year tinter and the last time I used a metallic film was on a 2008 or 2009 Altima. I warned the customer it may cause issues with his TPMS, and he said proceed. The end result was the TPMS light illuminated on the dash full time.

Metallic film was very nice back in the day, but it has an unusual place in the film market, since Ceramic film in just so much better at heat rejection and it doesn't interfere with vehicle electronics.

Maybe your installer installed a non-metallic film on the rear window to avoid any radio issues? My '09 Genesis manual states not to use a metallic film on the rear window.

No it’s metallized on the back window. The radio antenna is on the roof so not sure how back window would impact it. I know back in the day when the antenna was in the glass it caused issues but with it on the roof now don’t really see how it could cause a issue

Metal tint can mess with your cell signal too.
