  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was reading on the internet that cars like ours with GDI engines that Methanol/Water Injection would help keep the intake valves clean plus you would get a cooler intake charge for more horsepower there is a compay called Hydro HP that has a stage 1 kit for non boosted cars on their website for 189.99. Any thoughts on this they say one tank of methanol/water mixture for ever tank of gas. They show you how to make the mixture probably with windshield washer fluid.

Water injection has been around since the 1950s. There is some theory showing how good it is but if it really made sense, it would be on cars today.

Ads for water injectors were in Popular Science, right along with the little fan blades that went under the carburetor.

I think it's a legitimate solution for some really high compression engines (and boosted ones) that are prone to pre-ignition (I had to run it on my 302 Chevy Z28 which had 12.5:1 pistons), but I don't know about it's benefits today, on our G70 motors.
