  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 black pearl finish Genesis, it was keyed in a parking lot. a body shop wants to paint a whole quarter panel for a 4 inch scrape (no body damage) $800. how do dealers treat trade ins, i'm sure they don't paint a whole car to take care of minor scatches. do I need a key word so the auto body shop can give me the dealer treatment?

The scratch will have to be sanded, primed, sanded again then first and second stage of the paint layed down, then the whole panel should be clear coated. I'm not sure there is another way to do it and it not show on a black car. This is another reason that I have only owned one black car in my life.
